Rising global demand for cheap cashmere has wreaked havoc across Asia’s fragile environments, but there are several initiatives underway to produce ‘green’ and ‘wildlife friendly’ cashmere.

In the wake of controversy surrounding $1 billion-a-year python trade, several fashion brands have put in place voluntary bans on the use of this exotic leather and are engaging in efforts to ensure its future sustainability.
